No presents

Friday, Sept. 29, 2006: This morning Mike Frantz was steamed. I gave him directions to Minneapolis and mistakenly told him 265 west at Indy, except its 465 west. I think he was pretty mad because he told me that he wasn't gonna get me a Christmas present this year. Joke's on him though, I wasn't going to get him anything anyway.

Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006: I've been staring at my computer for 23 minutes trying to remember when or how I heard Christmas on Thursday, but I just can't remember. I know I heard it but I apparently I didn't document it soon enough. I apologize to my 2 and 1/2 loyal readers.

More Catalogues?

Wed. Sept. 27, 2006: This morning there was once again, a Christmas catalogue in the mail, I didn't even bother looking at what kind it was.

Tuesday, September 26, 2006

Keep your eyes open for an upcoming blog regarding Crocs and why I hate them.

Christmas?

Sept. 26, 2006: For some reason Dr. Cutrer mentioned the Christmas season today in class.

LL Bean Christmas Catalogue

Sept. 25, 2006: LL Bean's Christmas catalogue came in the mail today, I threw that away. I can't have that lingering around the apartment or it might show up in another blog.

Christmas break plans?

Sept. 24, 2006: Jesse Rea and I were discussing the plans for when the semester ends. I know its still a couple of months away, but that will be nice, and hey, he was the one who called it Christmas break.

The Famed Work Schedule

Friday, Sept. 22, 2006: My assistant manager and I had to discuss the work schedule for the week of Christmas.

Back on Track

Thurs. Sept. 21, 2006: After a day without hearing Christmas, things got right back on track Thursday. Not only did an unsuspecting soul haphazardly mention Christmas during class, Davin mentioned his plans for Christmas break this year.

Wed. Sept. 20, 2006: Sadly the consecutive days came to a close today. I have nothing left to say regarding this tragedy.

Thank you Tony

Last night on Monday night football, Tony Kornheiser had the guts to call out Joe Theisman. On one play, Theisman mentioned that Steelers quarterback "Big Ben" was back baby. Two plays later after overthrowing his reciever, he claimed that Ben had a ways to go before he was back. This a common occurence from the men in the booth and finally someone had the guts to call him out on it. My boy Tony yelled at Joe for the comment and pointed out his mis-step. Thank you Tony.

White Boards and mispelings

Sept. 19, 2006: This morning Danny wrote Christmas on the white board. I'm not sure he has a very concrete understanding of the game. While this incident counts, it doesn't really fit into the flow of the rest of my blog.

I also nede too adddres won other ishue regaurding the blog. Some have complaned about the lakk of pruufreeding and vast number of mispellings in the futur. Thanx Jessie Rae.

Pure Luck

Sept. 18, 2006: I lucked out last night. While watching one of my favorite shows on ESPN "PTI", I happened to flip to E TV during a commercial and heard part of a True Hollywood Story, which aren't bad documentaries by the way. Anyway, they mentioned that the cast of Cheers and Family Ties had a Christmas party together. I laughed and flipped my TV back to hear Mike and Tony argue at each other over some meaningless point of a football game. That's good stuff.

Fake Christmas Trees and Trash

Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006

I happened to notice this afternoon that the church had a clean-up day and removed a number of things to the street for "bulk trash day." I spotted a fake Christmas tree within the rubble and was quik to point out the object to my friends. Which begs the question, we buy these fake trees but they end up in the same place as the real trees, on the curb or in a fire. So why not just by the real thing from the get-go? It smells a whole better.

Carrie Underwood

Saturday Sept. 16, 2006,

Yes, its no secret that I have a massive crush on Carrie Underwood. She's a major cutie. Much to my shagrin, she did not say Christmas directly to me, however, I hope that can happen sometime in the future. Her song "Jesus Take the Wheel" however was played on the radio and she happens to sing the word Christmas in the song. So to Carrie, I know you really care, so I would like to give you a personal thank you for allowing the blog to continue to 7 consecutive days, completing my first full week.

Friday Sept. 15, 2006

About 9:30 p.m. I began to freak out realizing that Christmas had yet to get mentioned for the day and I had no idea how it could happen. Well Davin saved the day when he called about ten minutes later. We talked for about twenty minutes and he made mention about a previous Christmas present he had recieved from his parents. He's a life saver and yes ladies, he's a suitor.

Christmas Albums and Breaks

Sept. 14, 2006: Walking through the bookstore today, I accidently passed by the CD's and happened to notice a Christmas album, I really didn't take the time to see whose it was, I really didn't care, it is only September and I really am a firm believer that Christmas musice should not be played until after Thanksgiving. For those who say I'm cheating, well, it's my game and I make up the rules. It however didn't end there, for Jesse Rea mentioned that he had to go see Lindsay tonight so that he would see her before Christmas break. Laura, do you believe me yet?

Liriano Down

Well, the Twins found a new hole to dig themselves out of today. They attempted to pitch Franscisco Liriano, the rookie phenom after a five week break on the DL. After three innings he was down and out. What now? The Twins continue to surpise us so possibily Garza (or Gonzo as I like to call him), Bonser or Silva will step up and help them continue this run.

Sept. 13, 2006: I tried to stop myself today, but I just couldn't help myself. I was discussing cards with a co-worker and mentioned that a good place to get Christmas cards is at dollar stores, oops. Danny Slavich also called me and said one word. That hardly counts.

The Christmas Storm

Sept. 12, 2006

Jesse Rea told a story about a winter storm occuring during the Christmas season in Louisville, winter 2004. Two times in one day, the stars are aligned. They may have aligned over something else, but that is for future reference, comment and inuendo.

Vikings and Twins, much to cheer about

It's been years since Minnesota fans have had both the Twins and the Vikings to cheer about. At the moment, I expect the Twins to carry us further, as they have the best record in baseball since June 1 whereas the Vikings have the best record in football, along with the 15 other teams that won during opening weekend. Somehow, I feel that this could come to a close in week two against Carolina. But how about those Twins? I smell October baseball.

Sept. 12, 2006

Today my friend Brad Morello asked me a question regading his new laptop, the background picture was he and his family during the Christmas season.

Monday Sept. 11, 2006: While I was at work (Sherwin Williams), my assistant store manager staring singing Christmas carols out of the blue. The conversation went to Christmas being three months away. 2 for 2.

Sunday, September 10, 2006

So what's this blog about, mainly about hearing the word Christmas everyday. Thanks to Melany Adkinson, she took care of my greatest fear of staring this blog. During lunch she mentioned that two years ago on Christmans vacation, she saw a car go through the front door of a gas station. I was afraid that as soon as I started writing about hearing the word Christmas everyday, I would no longer hear it. So thanks Melany. For the last year and a half, more often than not, I here the word Christmas on a daily basis. What does that mean, well nothing really, but it is sort of funny. If for nothing else, it does serve as a reminder that our lives as Christians are about something much bigger than our everyday activities. Essentially, it is about the glorification of God in all things and what better way to remember the glorification of God than to remember the crossroads of salvation history, the coming of our Savior to redeem us from our sins.

I can't just write about this, so I decided to add two other things that I like, girls and sports, Minnesota sports to be exact. There will be no discussion of Gopher football, because no one cares. It is a great day as the return of NFL football to our lives, no longer do we come home from church and have nothing to watch, alas football is back into our lives.
